The Opportunity
Oversees Development, Testing and Deployment activities related to the Post-Composition platforms to ensure business and operational requirements and client commitments are met in accordance with service level agreements (SLAs). Recommends products, solutions and processes that contribute to Symcor’s evolution of application development capabilities and infrastructure and contributes to the provision of optimal and highly efficient technical solutions to meet with unique customer needs and market demands. Works with Symcor operations team to deliver continuous improvement as well as process automation
This role is hybrid with no official set number of mandatory in office days, however the successful applicant will be expected to attend limited in-person meetings, team and company events (monthly, quarterly, etc.)
About The Role:
- Lead the team by monitoring, coaching, developing and assigning employees, contractors, and vendors to provide the optimal resources required to attain the team’s objectives
- Oversee the development and implementation of the platforms and technologies related to assigned area of responsibility to ensure solutions are available, robust, and resilient and in accordance with design, business, and customer requirements.
- Oversee the design, coding, testing, and documentation of software solutions of varying complexity.
- Responsible for all phases of application system analysis, design, and programming.
- Work closely with production architecture group to provide technical governance and ensure compliance with enterprise standards.
- Provide input into cross discipline committees for enhancing or creating new processes, automation, or tools to improve delivery across the SDLC.
- Plan, schedule and oversee execution and delivery of maintenance activities and change requests within established timeframes to ensure platform stability and currency and satisfy client and business needs.
- Estimate overall resource and budget requirements for maintenance activities.
- Provide design and development services for project and change delivery.
- Lead development metrics collection and monitoring to ensure proper governance and oversight on maintenance and change requests.
- Plan, oversee and manage the provision of Tier 3 support
- Address escalations from both internal and external clients
- Ensure root-case analysis is properly completed for all Sev1 and Sev2 issues and appropriate steps are taken to address the cause.
- Work with senior management to develop 5 year financial and business plans for team and department
- Work with finance to review actuals against financial forecast and plan for the year
- Based on changes in demand, adjust forecast for team
- Manage spends across Travel, Training, Entertainment etc., as per forecast
- Support Pre-Sales Activities, Internal Changes and New Client On-Boarding
- Participate in the execution of JAD sessions with new and existing clients.
- Create and execute SOWs in collaboration with vendor and internal teams (procurements, operations, technology, PMO).
- Provide input into SOW deliverables, acceptance criteria and payment schedule.
- Drive Continuous Improvement
- Completion of a post-secondary college diploma or university degree in a related discipline (development/technology/computer science/engineering) or a combination of education, training and experience deemed to be equivalent.
- 6-9 years experience in the following areas:
- Customer communications (post-composition)
- Demonstrated knowledge of post-composition platforms (Prisma, Sefas HCS, Emtex, etc.)
- Demonstrated capability to quickly build domain knowledge and expertise in a new technology and business space
- Hardware and Software Vendor management
- Leadership skills to motivate team.
- Demonstrated project management skills to plan and deliver on established strategic and tactical goals
- Knowledge of PCI, SOC Audits (I/II),BCP and DRP.
- Print technologies including AFP/PS/LCDS and Print/Insertion
- Familiarity with Python, Java, MSSQL, Linux (SUSE, RHEL)
