In this exciting role you will work with a skilled data analytics team to analyze broadband availability and projects in planning, developing and implementing data analysis services and products.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:
  • Conduct analytics using multiple datasets, including geospatial data
Data collection and analysis, including quantitative and qualitative analysis and environmental scanning
  • Lead and participate in special research projects
Lead data management strategies and frameworks to support all phases of the data cycle
  • Research and prepare responses to information requests pertaining to various program and policy related issues
  • Perform information requirements analysis, feasibility assessment, sizing of effort and prepare relevant documentation in the context of current and future business requirements
  • Participate in the development, monitoring and enforcement of protocols to maintain source data and information distribution processes


How do I qualify?

Technical Knowledge:

  • You have knowledge of theories, practices and techniques of economic, mathematical and statistical theory and analysis, research methods and procedures
  • You have knowledge of the ministries mandates, programs and policy directions in order to anticipate issues and provide statistical advice
  • You have knowledge of information management practice and procedures and the use of business intelligence (BI) tools to conduct and facilitate data gatherings and analysis
  • You have knowledge of computer applications and skills in using databases and business intelligence tools, as well as software applications (e.g. word, excel and PowerPoint) to prepare reports, correspondence and slideshow presentation.


Analytical and Problem-Solving Skills:

  • You have strong analytical and problem-solving skills to perform analyses to respond to information requests and synthesize solutions when working with large scale information systems and data sets
  • You have analytical, numerical, evaluative and interpretative skills to prepare, produce and validate analytical reports, products and data to meet requests and business requirements


Project Management Skills:

  • You have planning and project management skills to conduct studies, set priorities and estimate resources to ensure completion within established deadlines


Communication and Interpersonal Skills:

  • You have communication skills to prepare complex technical reports and present proposals to a variety of contacts and stakeholders.
  • You have tact and diplomacy to maintain liaison with a variety of internal and external contacts and understand data analysis requirements
  • You have influencing and persuasion skills to manage special research projects and provide business support
  • You have strong presentation skills
