The Ministry of the Solicitor General, Ontario Provincial Police, and the East Region Command team are seeking a qualified individual to join our team. In this exciting, rewarding and challenging opportunity, you will support an HR team in the delivery of HR services, activities and programs, administering HR processes and conducting information searches and data research. To provide clients with information about HR processes and track status of activities. To provide support services for the delivery of corporate/Bureau programs.

What can I expect to do in this role?

You will:

  • Support an HR team in the delivery of HR services, activities, and programs, administering HR processes and conducting information searches and data research.
  • Provide research and analytical support to the Manager and East Region. This includes researching, analyzing and compiling information to support various training initiatives and the development of reports for training sessions and performance evaluations, and presentations, program evaluation.
  • Provide program support for projects, services and activities in the unit, including assisting in the design and preparation of project plans, tracking and monitoring project deliverables, and reviewing and reporting on statistical information.
  • Conduct data analysis, identify trends and recommend strategies as well as ensure data integrity and security through quality assurance.
  • Coordinate, facilitate and track training activities for the bureau. Prepare reports on training activities and recommend training based on needs to senior manager.
Note: The position is located at the OPP's East Region Headquarters in Smith Falls, and as a frontline organization, the position is required to report to the office location as per the OPP/OPS's guidelines.

How do I qualify?

Mandatory

Ability to pass an OPP background/ security investigation.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of human resources planning processes to provide support and input into process activities.
  • Knowledge of human resources administration to support program development and coordination of initiatives and to track and respond to inquiries regarding the Region's activities, services, and products, and provide project and logistical assistance.
  • Knowledge of corporate programs and related systems such as talent and performance management to support initiatives.
  • Knowledge of HR information systems and data bases (e.g. WIN system) to access and analyze the data, in order to support the gathering of appropriate data for specific HR-related purposes, and prepare various reports.
  • Ability and skill in providing research, analytical and administrative services in support of delivering a range of human resources projects and programs within its unit.
  • Knowledge of data management (integrity and the security of the data) and the evaluation and improvement of business processes within its unit.
  • Ability to research and support the branch/unit on various project initiatives undertaken by the Region and prepares a range of reports on research findings. Ability to access information sources and determine data integrity, and through data analysis, identify patterns, trends and issues; synthesize and report on statistical information related to the Region's learning and organizational activities. Ensure the accuracy and security of data and tracking of Regional activities.
  • Planning and coordinating skills to create project plan schedules and materials. This includes gathering information, organizing data, distributing documents and tracking deliverables. Proactively facilitate many activities, processes and documents within an environment of competing priorities.
  • Strong interpersonal & communication skills to work with unit staff to provide research, analytical and program support and to provide/obtain information on unit programs. Respond to enquiries regarding unit activities and products, and with counterparts in other ministries to obtain/provide information related to human resources planning processes and organization development; responding to internal/external inquiries related to unit activities and products.
